Phycologists say, instead of praising children always, for their outcomes (e.g, saying “Good Job”, “Nice painting”, etc), or hailing the individual (e.g saying, “Smart Kid”, Nice chap, etc), we should lay emphasis on the process they pursued to get the outcomes. Sometimes, Tell them – “Oh, you must have worked hard to achieve that, keep us the pace!”

And here’s the reason, children may not always get the excellent results. Praising them outrightly instead of hailing the process they went through, makes them focus on self and hence lose sight of how they got the job done. They can always control the outcome as long as they fine-tune the process. Welcome everyone. We continue our journey into unravelling and rejecting the spirit which is in the world as we see in 1 Cor 2:12 & 1 John 2:16.

But how does this relate to our topic today? CENSOR YOUR PLEASURES. First, we’re children of God. To censor is to limit. It’s true that the Bible says there’s everlasting pleasure for us at God’s right hand – Psalms 16:11. This includes all of life’s good things, in it’s fullest. But remember that His right hand is the heavenly places described in Eph 1:20. He created us for HIS OWN pleasure – Rev 4:11. So, our pleasures should be at God’s instance and not according to the flesh’s dictate. You’d be surprised at what the Bible says in 1 Cor 9:27 – Living Bible Translation.

“Like an athlete I punish my body, treating it roughly, training it to do what it should, not what it wants to.”

That statement needs no further explanation. If a man, for instance, chooses to gaze at every woman who passes by him, very soon, the flesh will take over his thoughts and fornication/adultery can start from the heart – 1 Cor 6:13. ‘Spiritual Men’ are not exempted from this rule. ‘Censor your eyes’, brother! If a lady wants to adorn every latest fashion style seen online, she will have to ignore or disobey the Holy Spirit’s checks, to achieve that! Moderation is the word! Moderation in all things. Let your moderation be known unto all men – Phil 4:5
