COMPASSION IS LOVE IN EXPRESSION ? | 1 John 3:17 | The Lord Of The Harvest – Lesson 18 | David ADENIJI

We need to get serious with this message of love. Today, I have a deep impression, to show you what he’s showing me about this subject.

First, let’s understand that every material possession that cannot be deployed into expressing God love for the people and the world around us is of no value in God’s kingdom. What you give is the true measurement of what you have. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? That wasnt my saying. I just quoted you 1 John 3:17 (NIV)

Now, listen to the next verse. “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. You see how complete the Bible is? You do all the talking, but none of the giving. You see people in need, and you are never moved to give to them of what you have. You can’t give everyone I know, but if you’re a child of God, the Holy spirit always lays on your heart certain avenues to touch certain people with your materials. Many times, they aren’t asking you. At such instances, don’t shut up your “Bowels of Compassion” – your capacity to love. The real love is in the expression, the action, the giving, not just the talking. So says the bible, not me.

But wait a minute, let’s even go deeper. Let’s talk about love for a moment. That same scripture is where we will go. Step back a bit to verse 14-16. Bible nails it. If you aren’t giving, then why hate? Oh, you say, I don’t hate anyone. Read that scripture for yourself…He that love not his brother abides in death.

You don’t hate, do you love?. You can’t be in the middle. You’re either here or there. Verse 16 tells us that Jesus had to die for us to really prove his love for us. And that we ought to lay down our lives for our brethren. That sounds harsh right? But no one is putting a knife in your neck, all He is saying is – Love! Let some part of you go into completing others, especially, when they’re in need, because compassion is love in expression.
